Burning Bridges

It's been a long time
A long time since I've posted
And a long time since I've written
Now I'm trying to do both
Here's my sad attempt at writing again..

Burning Bridges

I. I take it all back, it was too late at night

The things I said burn in daylight

I changed my mind, I'm in over my head

(need a line)

II. I'm done talking, I'm walking away

Leaving those words where they dropped and now lay

Don't pick em up, I don't mean what I say

I've crossed over, it's comin down, look away.

We're on opposite sides

No matter how hard you try

Cus I'm lookin back

Feelin bad for those lies

But I'm burning bridges

I have a third verse.. but it needs some serious revision.

There it is.. unfortunately the tune that popped in my head when I was writing this song resembles country.. which is definitely not what I was going for. So I'm revising the melody as well.. Any suggestions? opinions? lines? verses? Feel free :)
